ABC releases first multimedia reports for Canadian magazines
The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) is looking to the future with the release of its first Canadian multimedia audit reports.
ABC recently released its first two Multimedia Publisher’s Statements in the Canadian market, for Canadian Underwriter and Oral Health (both under Business Information Group in Toronto).
Multimedia reports are optional for ABC's business publication members, noted Kammi Altig of ABC, who explained publications can enhance their statements with digital information such as audited website data and e-newsletter stats, while still reporting their print circulation information. If B2B titles use a multimedia statement, it replaces their traditional print circulation Publisher's Statement.
ABC stated that Canadian Underwriter’s report shows its total average qualified paid and non-paid circulation at nearly 13,000, while reaching nearly 32,000 unique users each month via its website and more than 22,000 subscribers in its e-mail database. The report for Oral Health lists its monthly unique users at nearly 19,000 and its e-newsletter subscribers at 11,000, with more than 21,000 qualified paid and non-paid circulation.
Steve Wilson, senior publisher of Canadian Underwriter, explained, “Given the continued growth of our online product offerings and their related metrics, being able to capture this multimedia data within a Publisher’s Statement is of great value to our clients, especially those participating in both print and online advertising.”
Altig explained a Consolidated Media Report (CMR) is available to consumer magazines, in addition to the Publisher's Statement. The CMR is "completely customizable with data, graphs, demographics and more. We anticipate releasing the first of these reports by the end of the year."
In the U.S., ABC has already released 42 multimedia reports for 14 titles, according to the company.
Downloadable multimedia audit reports for the two B2B publications are available here.
