Submissions still open for The Peter Gzowski Life Literacy Fellowship
ABC Life Literacy Canada is accepting submissions for the The Peter Gzowski Life Literacy Fellowship.
The fellowship provides a $3,000 grant for a Canadian journalist to publish a literacy project that "supports, creates awareness and enhances the importance of literacy."
The award is in honour of the late broadcaster and journalist Peter Gzowski.
Last year's winner was Susan Quinlan of the Prairie Post West Newspaper, for her editorial proposal focusing on the "growing Low German Mennonite community in southern Alberta, and its struggles to access literacy courses."
Submissions this year are being accepted until Aug. 19, 2011.
