Taddle Creek hits the road
The normally Toronto-based literary and arts magazine Taddle Creek is hitting the road this summer on a coast-to-coast tour. Publisher and editor in chief Conan Tobias spoke with Masthead before heading out west on the second leg of the tour.

Tobias says the magazine hit the east coast last week, with stops in Halifax, Edmonton and St. John. The purpose of the tour, titled the Taddle Creek Series of Happenings, is to promote the magazine and have some fun with readers. “Our current issue is the Out of Towner edition,” he says. “We usually have one non-Toronto-based writer in each issue, but this is an entire magazine devoted to non-local talent”

The magazine, which is published twice a year, is doing well for a literary magazine in Canada, says Tobias, though it recently lost its government funding due to revisions from the Department of Canadian Heritage.

The Taddle Creek Travelling Series of Happenings is in Vancouver on Wednesday, with dates in Montreal and New York to be announced at a later date. Tobias says the tour will finish in Toronto in time for Taddle Creek's next issue launch in the fall.
