To save money, Rogers offers publishing employees four-day work week

To cut back on labour costs, Rogers Publishing Ltd. has offered its employees the option of working four days a week instead of five, but for 20% less pay. Employees who take the purely voluntary offer are committed to it until Dec. 31, 2009. The offer is not being extended to Rogers businesses outside of publishing. Applications are due Jan. 26.

Said one Rogers employee in editorial, "I don't think it makes a lot of sense for people like me. Same amount of work, but spread over fewer days and for less pay."
