Publishers, circulators, editors, designers and newsstand managers can now enter their best performers in newsstand sales and cover design for the 2008 Canadian Newsstand Awards/Grand prix d’excellence en kiosque.
The cover competition is open to all English and French-language Canadian magazines and recognizes excellence in newsstand sales and cover. $15,000 worth of promotion credits for HDS Retail-owned stores and other prizes are available to be won.
Covers are judged based on total newsstand sales, sell-through percentages, newsstand promotions and overall appearance. Entrants compete in four categories, based on circulation size, from small to extra-large.
The entry deadline is Friday, April 11. Winners will be announced at a sreception on June 3 at Magazines University in Toronto. An exhibit of short-listed candidates will also be displayed during Mags U, June 2-4, as well as at the National Magazine Awards, June 6, at the Carlu.
