Web design expert speaks at Alberta Magazines Conference

Jason Brightman will deliver the keynote speech at the 2008 Alberta Magazines Conference. Brightman, web design director for PC World and Macworld at the International Data Group, will be speaking on the Friday of the March 6-7 conference held at Calgary’s Red & White Club.  His lecture will focus on uniting the print and online worlds. In addition to the talk, he will also hold a hands-on workshop.

Brightman is currently leading the transformation of both magazines from print-focused to “web-first” publications. Previously, Brightman led strategic direction, design and development for online extensions of popular magazines such as XXL, RIDES and SLAM.

National and regional experts will also be speaking to conference attendees from across Alberta. They include Charlene Rooke, editor of Western Living; Kim Machado, general manager of CanadianBusiness.com; Glenn Mielle, art director for BlackFlash magazine, and many others.

AMC is the biggest magazine conference for professional development in Western Canada. The AMC is hosted by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA).
