The Word On The Street Festival set for September 27 and 28 in Toronto

The Word On The Street’s 36th Annual Festival, a national celebration of reading, writing, and literacy, will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28, at David Pecaut Square, located at King Street and John Street in downtown Toronto. Each year, this well-attended free event hosts hundreds of compelling and inspirational author readings featuring stories about where we live for visitors of all ages, as well as a vibrant marketplace featuring a huge selection of some of the best books and magazines in Canada.

Visitors can spend an enjoyable weekend browsing through hundreds of books, magazines and newspapers, meeting authors, and chatting with like-minded enthusiasts of the power of the printed word. Popular Indigenous and Canadian authors will be attending, and there’ll also be a Dedicated Kids’ Stage and helpful Writers’ Workshops. The Word On The Street was voted one of Toronto’s Best Local Festivals in the 2022 and 2024 Toronto Star Readers’ Choice Awards.
