While may get lost in the celebration of the moment of winning a COPA award, the COPAs received this thank you note for a silver winner, Nunavik - Eye on the Arctic for Best Investigative Article created by Radio Canada International. After reading this it makes it all worthwhile as journalists in what we do and should make us all proud that we are making a difference.

"I would like to thank the judges of COPA for selecting DEATH IN THE ARCTIC as a Finalist in your awards ceremony. This means a lot to me and to the Inuit, First Nations, Metis communities as a whole including southern communities who may have been treated or are still being treated the same as my family is/was. Ellis is a great and patient journalist and you made her year by placing her story as a silver winner. She contacted me last night overjoyed. Beginning on January 14,15 and 16, 2020, my handsome son Robert Matthew Dakota Adams case will take place in the Nunavik community of Kuujjuaq where the Quebec Supreme Court will hear the Murder trial and the sentencing will be for the murderer. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU." Bernard Adams, Father
