Effective January 6, 2025, Marion Garner will be the publisher of Penguin Random House Canada, succeeding Nicole Winstanley. Garner began her career at Penguin Canada (then Random House of Canada) in 1996 as a sales representative. Since then, she has held a variety of key positions, including Associate Publisher of Vintage Canada; Associate Publisher, The Knopf Random House Canada Group; and Deputy Publisher, Penguin Random House Canada.
In recent years, she served as Vice President of Publishing Management, oversaw its book acquisition process and changes in paperback production and publishing, and led critical initiatives to drive backlist sales. “When we learned that audiobook retailers were preparing to launch in Canada, Marion launched a homegrown audiobook program that is now an award-winning part of our core publishing, and a priority growth area,” said CEO Kristin Cochrane.
