Magazines Canada has named Darlene Storey, vice president of consumer marketing and production for St. Joseph Media, as its 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

At St. Joseph Media, Storey guides the circulation of numerous titles including Toronto Life, Quill & Quire, Fashion, Canadian Family and Weddingbells. She previously worked at Transcontinental Media (now TC Media) as group circulation director, overseeing circ for publications like Canadian Living, Homemakers, Style at Home, Elle Canada and more.

As a Magazines Canada volunteer, Storey has taught at the organization's School for Circulation and sat on its Direct Mail, Canada Post and Stewardship committees. "Darlene was an easy choice for her colleagues," said Mark Jamison, chief executive officer of Magazines Canada, in a released statement. "She is both a respected industry leader and a generous mentor."

The Volunteer of the Year Award, awarded annually to an individual for outstanding volunteer contributions that have had a national impact on the magazine industry, will be presented to Storey at the Magazines Canada Luncheon on June 6, 2013 in Toronto. The luncheon is part of this year's MagNet conference.
