Kat Tancock and Jennifer Goldberg have combined their experience as writers, editors and digital consultants to launch a content agency called Tavanberg. The multiplatform agency specializes in editorial, social media and digital strategy. Current clients include Moneris, Skylink Aviation and Sobeys.
A CBC report says cigarette ads are making a comeback in magazines popular with teen readers. While Canada is stricter with homegrown titles, there is no ban on cross-border ads in U.S. publications.

Marketing's "30 Under 30" September 16 issue marks the launch of a new column called Branded Deluxe, on luxury brands, by Paris correspondent Mark Tungate. This month Marketing also rolls out redesigned newsletters for responsive reading on all devices.
Magazines Canada has joined a coalition of Ontario associations in opposing the proposed new Ontario Waste Diversion Act. The associations say the act will be no better, and possibly worse, than the current waste diversion system. Download a PDF of Magazines Canada's submission here.
Dare's Fall issue is now online. The digital magazine for plus-size women launched earlier this year, and started as a final-year school project by Ryerson fashion communications student Diana Di Poce.
