An open letter in the Vancouver Observer to Canadian Geographic takes issue with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society's ties to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP).

CanGeo partnered with CAPP to present the mag's June 2013 "Energy Matters" feature, and CAPP is also funding the society's Energy IQ program. Writes Dr. Warren Bell, a family physician, "In my profession, sponsored studies have been clearly shown to engender unmistakable bias."

Flare's second World Runway Tour kicks off in Vancouver Oct. 1 before hitting Montreal (Oct. 10) and Toronto (Oct. 25). The runway will host fall looks and editors will talk trends and share stories about their recent experiences in fashion capitals around the world.

Filthy Gorgeous, a documentary about Penthouse publisher and founder, the late Bob Guccione, screens at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. The doc is apparently, appropriately, rather revealing.
