Ontario and Quebec have order the closure of  all non essential business because of the Covid-19 pandemic . Only essential services will be allowed to stay open and those companies that supply them.  Magazines are not specifically mentioned as essential or not.  Some of the wording from the Ontario Government that would apply to the publishing field include , under Communications industries 43 Newspaper publishers, 44 Radio & Television Broadcasting, 45 Telecommunications providers. Under Telecommunications and IT infrastructure/service providers Businesses engaged in providing or supporting Information Technology (IT) including online services, software products and related services. A lot of publishers contacted have most of their staff working from home. There appears to be no clear indication on how many publications are still being printed.
