Best Health celebrates Love Your Body issue with two covers
Following the success of a similar issue released a year ago, Best Health has released the 2011 Love Your Body issue, with a goal of reminding Canadian women that a healthy body is easy to love.

(Canadian men agree.)

Best Health is all about a balanced approach to living better and feeling great,” said Bonnie Munday, Best Health editor in chief. “In keeping with our Love Your Body theme, we have once again decided to feature a nude woman on our cover. And to further engage our subscribers, we’re presenting a fun and innovative cover execution.”

Indeed, at first glance, the subscriber iteration of this issue appears to picture a fully clothed model — it is only by retracting a special lift-off flap, that the beautiful birthday-suited bonus beneath is revealed.

The newsstand version lacks this modesty-preserving feature — presumably due to the attention-grabbing potential of naked ladies, and the effect of such captive attention on newsstand sales.

Best Health, published by Reader’s Digest, partnered with Garnier on the flap. The shampoo maker launches a new product on the flap’s back.

Now in its fourth year of publication, Best Health boasts a paid circulation of 120,000.
