Who got money from the media assistance fund?

CanadaLand, a news site and podcast network funded by its audience, has obtained and published a list of recipients from the media assistance fund.

According to the site, “Publications such as Canadian Business, the Logic, and various Torstar and Black Press newspapers received funding from the $23.5 million media assistance fund the Trudeau government set up to aid news outlets during the COVID-19 pandemic.” More than 700 publications were accepted into the program for free, digital, and small-circulation magazines and weekly newspapers.

Canadaland focuses its coverage on Canadian media, news, current affairs, and politics. The full article and list of recipients can be found here.
