Time Magazine, Fortune and Sports Illustrated are up for sale. Meredith Corporation that bought the magazine division from Time Warner last year for $1.8 billion last year. These titles have male dominated audiences do not appear to fit with Meredith female titles such as Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle and Martha Stewart Living.Meredith plans to keep other titles such as People, Entertainment Weekly and InStyle.

The Time Magazine acquisition was partly finances by the Koch brothers who have supported right wing American politics. Citigroup has been hired to find possible buyers. Likely buyers are telecommunication or technology companies. Another more likely group are philanthropists or wealthy individuals. The Koch brothers have indicated they are not interested.
