Put on your party hats, Canadian Living turns 40
Canadian Living will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2015. Monthly guest editors, an anniversary cookbook, VIP events and exclusive reader contests have all been planned to commemorate the milestone. The publication has also dedicated a section of its website to the ongoing festivities, and has released its first-ever issue for free (published in 1975) on its iPad app.

Twelve individuals were also chosen to help edit the anniversary issues of the publication, beginning with Olympian and Canada Walk of Fame inductee Hayley Wickenheiser. Using the hashtag #CL40 twitter users can participate in a Canadian Living live Twitter chat with Wickenheiser on Dec.17 at noon. The remaining 11 guest editors will be revealed throughout the year on the magazine’s social media platforms.

Canadian Living’s evolution from a quarterly publication to a truly multiplatform brand is remarkable. I am thrilled to be joining the team at such a pivotal time in the brand’s history,” newly hired multiplatform editorial director Sandra E. Martin said. “With an estimated 13.6 million brand impressions per month*, Canadian Living has always been a tremendous resource for women across Canada, and I plan to continue the tradition of delivering truly accessible food, health, fashion, beauty, entertainment, travel and home decor content to our readers, friends and followers.”

Over the past 40 years there have been 42 special interest publications, six bookazines and 64 Canadian Living cookbooks. The January issue hits newsstands on Dec. 8.
