OMDC to share best magazine industry practices Aug. 1
Saying it sits on a "mountain of data and success stories" from the magazine industry, the Ontario Media Development Corp. is inviting publishers to learn from what it's learned.

The provincial agency will be holding its Best Practices Panel & Networking Brunch on Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in Toronto.

"It seems like a good idea to be sharing this information as much as possible," says Matt Hilliard-Forde, the OMDC's magazine program consultant.

Panelists will discuss the success of their projects and provide examples of best practices, tips and strategies to support new business models, and insight on industry trends.

The OMDC's bullet points on the session include:

·    Analyzing the current needs of your company
·    Identifying and exploring opportunities for growth
·    Identifying reader habits
·    Exploring suitable new platforms and ways to attract audience and advertisers
·    Applying for the Magazine Fund and working with the OMDC
·    Project management
·    Industry trends

The event takes place at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, 250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor. RSVP to programs2@omdc.on.ca.

The panel discussion will also be accessible via teleconference. Readers should indicate in their RSVP if they wish to participate via phone. Dial-in details will be provided in advance of the event.
