Led by editor-in-chief Jessica Smith Cross, The Trillium has assembled a team of experienced Queen’s Park journalists, including deputy editor Charlie Pinkerton and reporters Aidan Chamandy, Sneh Duggal, and Jack Hauen. Available as a subscription-based news service, the title is aimed at public servants, political staffers, business leaders, lobbyists, and strategists. The site will be free for a limited time at it ramps up. A complement of newsletters will also be available to subscribers.
“This is a very exciting day for us,” says Jeff Elgie, the CEO of Village Media. “Queen’s Park is the heart of power in Ontario, and what happens there has a ripple effect on every community in the province, including the many cities and towns that depend on our local journalism.”
Village Media owns and operates 24 news websites across Ontario, including GuelphToday, SooToday, BarrieToday, Sudbury.com and BurlingtonToday.
