Independent magazine seeks funding on Indiegogo

The funds will help supplement its tightly stretched budget, ($15,000 annually in public funding) and allow the magazine to continue to pay freelance writers for work that will appear in the print version as well as online.
As independent publications tend to receive less funding than its corporate counterparts, Briarpatch depends heavily on reader support.
The Indiegogo campaign has currently reached 27% of its fundraising goal and closes on Aug. 13. The politics and culture-focused magazine can be found throughout the country.
