TVA's Échos Vedettes magazine, focusing on Quebec celebrity news, is celebrating its 50th anniversary soon and has taken the opportunity to release a series of related souvenir booklets and photo albums.

Between Sept. 20 and Oct. 25, readers can collect six souvenir booklets as a bonus when they buy Échos Vedettes (cover price $3.19). "Fans will be able to read interviews and news reports of the time, check out old photos, and reminisce about TV shows and the big showbiz events from the past 50 years. A reprint of the very first issue of the magazine will also be included," noted TVA Publications.

Along with the booklets, the magazine is "drawing on the hundreds of thousands of photographs in its archives" to produce four collectible souvenir photo albums ($6.99 each). The first two special issues were scheduled to hit newsstands Sept. 27 and Oct. 18, with the others to come on Nov. 8 and Nov. 28.

Échos Vedettes magazine made its debut in Quebec in 1963. At the time, the magazine cost 10 cents. Since then, Échos Vedettes has published 2,606 issues, printed more than 125,874 pages and has seen its size change 11 times, according to the publisher.
