Philippe Cloutier, previously president of commercial printer Quad Graphics' Canadian division (which was bought by Transcontinental), spent 12 years with Quad in both Canada in the U.S. where he "worked closely with Reader's Digest on the manufacturing of its Canadian magazines." He will start his role as general manager of RD Canada on July 3.

The new leader has a focus on digital. "He will take a lead role in expediting the transition to digital products to ensure Canadian consumers have the content they want, when they want it, and where they want it," reads a release.

Cloutier will have responsibility of running operations in Canada, overseeing magazine titles Reader’s Digest, Best Health, Our Canada and More of Our Canada, as well as books, music and video products, added the release.

Cloutier is filling the shoes of former Reader's Digest Canada president Tony Cioffi, who left earlier this year to pursue an unspecified "new business opportunity."
