Western Magazine Awards finalists announced
Continuing the exciting awards announcement season, here are some of the finalists for the 30th annual Western Magazine Awards:
For best new magazine, the finalists are Eighteen Bridges, HERS, Leap and S-Magazine, while nominated for best trade magazine of the year is Alberta Oil, Border Crossings, CGA Magazine, Enterprise, and Massage Matters Canada.
Getting the nod for best online magazine is BCBusiness, BCLiving.ca, Boulderpavement, The Tyee and Wine Access.
Here are the magazine of the year awards nominees by province/territory: For Alberta/NWT, the finalists are Alberta Venture, Eighteen Bridges, Swerve, Up Here, Up Here Business.
For BC/YUKON, the mag of the year finalists are BCBusiness, Kootenay Mountain Culture Magazine, Malahat Review, Vancouver Magazine and Western Living.
In Manitoba, titles battling for top spot are Border Crossings, Canada's History, Geez, Prairie Fire, and SANDBOX Magazine.
And last but not least, finalists for best mag in Saskatchewan include BlackFlash, Grain Magazine, and Saskatoon HOME Magazine.
The winners of each of the provincial magazine of the year categories will form the list of finalists for magazine of the year for all of Western Canada.
The 30th Annual WMA Gala is at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel on Friday, June 15. Tickets will go on sale in mid-May.
