If Joe Blow from CDS Global won an award, would it be ok if it was changed to the CEO's name? Something is definitely fishy, especially considering James not being with TAMI and Brian is the guy who writes the CMC Circulator.
Congratulations to all the winners. Especially Sharlene Clarke for winning the scholarship. She deserves it.
No disrespect intended, the award was submitted with credit to 'Laura Dunphy, Publisher, Salon Magazine', and 'Target Audience Management Inc.' (TAMi). The emailed submission was from James, so that credit was initially personalized to him for the presentation. As with any other applicant, we do not have the luxury of reviewing a proof of the presentation and making appropriate corrections. Note that every recognized achievement that goes through here touches on everyone and we celebrate our successes as a team - James can attest to that in regard to the previous wins. To simply correct the presentation for release to 'TAMi' was not consistent with the other awards, so if a name must be present, my name made the most sense. Nothing underhanded intended here.
Each elected CMC Board member is responsible for a portfolio. Part of the responsibility for the Communications portfolio is the Circulator that Ron Sellwood has done an outstanding job fulfilling over the last 2 years. As all of you are aware - Ron is the CMC Past President and Director of Communications.
Regarding comments noted above, that the Circulator is written by Brian - please know that Ron creates, writes, edits and designs it. I approve it before sending to TAMI and Brian Gillett - and their ONLY role is the deployment of it to CMC members.
If anyone has any further comments, please feel free to call or email me directly. I would be happy to speak with you directly. Doug or Gloria at Masthead has my permission to give you my contact information.
On another note - since there are some of you so passionate about all of the Awards - I look forward to many submissions to the ACE Awards for next year. And the CMC would love for you to come and volunteer your time on the Board!
Respectfully, Tuppy
