Marco, this would be a great subject for a future article. Our magazine has been struggling for years to find a good way to handle our online forum. At first we naively thought if we left it wide open, everyone in the industry our magazine serves would be respectful and post comments that were helpful and insightful. Wrong! So now we've established some rules, and monitor the comments, which has cost us some readers. Now, some advertisers are noticing the forum and trying to get involved, either with blatant self-promotion or by demanding that certain posts be removed. It's a mess, and I don't know if it's really worth all the trouble...
