The CMC Awards aims to give more
The Circulation Management Association of Canada’s (CMC) 18th annual awards show will take place on June 4 and this year the theme is change.

The director of Scholarships and Awards, Amanda Beattie said they wanted to inject some excitement into the awards this year after being inspired by the feedback they received at the Canadian Cover Awards, as well as the evolution she sees occurring in an increasingly digitally focused magazine landscape.

To see an example of these changes look no further than The Vendor award, which will make its debut during the luncheon at MagNet, and recognizes those who work in the business side of the magazine industry.

Potential winners will also notice a larger monetary prize, made possible by the CMC treasurers.

“We've increased the CMC Scholarship Award (formerly the Caren King Scholarship Award) from $3000 to $5000,” Beattie said. “This award is for professional development which, lets face it, doesn't always come cheap. We also increased the prize for Lifetime Achievement (formerly Marketer of the Year) to $1000 and added a cash prize of $500 to the Volunteer of the Year.”

The deadline to nominate a candidate for an award is May 2 and it’s free, simply contact Beattie to complete your submission.
