Sportsnet celebrates a successful 2015

Last year was a good year for Sportsnet.

According to the Rogers-owned media brand, it left its mark on the television, radio and magazine industries and observed triple-digit growth on Sportsnet.ca and mobile.

Highlights from Sportsnet’s successful 2015 include:
  • Sporstnet magazine was recognized for one gold and three silver awards at the National Magazine Awards, as well as one gold and one silver at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards. Overall the magazine received 17 award nominations for both events.
  • Sportsnet.ca saw an increase of 200% for unique visitors and page views and an increase of 300% for video starts. In October the website surpassed TSN.ca for the fist time, receiving 4 million unique visitors across all digital platforms. The mobile audience increased by 211%, which is triple the audience recorded in October 2014.
  • The success of the Toronto Blue Jays on the field translated to television. It was the most watched Blue Jays season in network history with an average audience of 973,000 viewers (2+). It was an increase of 68% over the 2014 regular season audience of 580,000—previously the most-watched Blue Jays season on record.
