Publishers Hacked By Photographer/Illustrator

Email to publishers with link to malware.
In a  recent scam publishers are being hacked by a person claiming to be a photographer/illustrator. They send a email claiming the publisher has used one of their  copyrighted images . They provide a link to the supposed copyrighted images that is really a link to malware. So far no publishers have reported any Trojan Horses, ransom ware or spyware. The hacker treatens to contact the publishers hosting provider.

In order to make it look authentic they give an address, phone number and email address . All of which are live just not connected with any photographer. The name usually given is Mel and an email address containing Melphotogerapher@hotmail.com .  If any one gets and demands from this scam please let Masthead know so we can pass it on.
