CPF accepting business innovation applications
Canadian Heritage is accepting funding applications for the business innovation component of the Canada Periodical Fund (CPF), for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

The CPF business innovation component offers project funding to small and mid-sized print magazine and digital periodical publishers. "It encourages innovation to adapt to changing market conditions and contributes to the diversity of content sought by Canadian readers," says Canadian Heritage.

It notes the following new developments:
  • Please note that in 2014-2015 the CPF has implemented the minimum average price criteria for both subscriptions and single copies/newsstand copies sold. Please carefully read the Notice on the minimum average price criteria available on our website or consult section D.1.2 of the Guide.
  • As part of an ongoing Government of Canada Initiative (pch.gc.ca/eng/1370873738331), Business Innovation will continue to offer support for history related projects and history periodicals.
  • Business Innovation will be hosting a webinar session to assist applicants in understanding application requirements and eligibility criteria in May. An email invitation will follow shortly.
Applications will be accepted all year, but the call to action recommends submitting at least fourth months prior to a project's start date.

Details including eligibility criteria, application guidelines and forms can be accessed at the Canadian Heritage website.
