Elle Canada features rising star Winnie Harlow on the cover of the February issue

Elle Canada’s February issue features an exclusive interview with rising star Winnie Harlow in her first-ever ELLE cover interview and fashion shoot featuring entirely Canadian designers. In this candid interview, Winnie gets up close and personal with editor-in-chief Vanessa Craft about feeling comfortable in her own skin, her emerging career and the pressures of being held up as a role model. For the uninitiated Winnie Harlow is a fashion model and  was discovered by America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks on Instagram, and subsequently became one of the fourteen finalists in 2014.[

“I feel like I am an inspiration. That’s the word I prefer. I don’t believe that I have to be a role model,” says Harlow. Read the full interview here.

CBC Hit Show Kim’s Convenience renewed for a second season

In a great example of diversity in programming, CBC’s breakout hit comedy series KIM’S CONVENIENCE based on the Soulpepper production of Ins Choi’s award-winning play. This funny, heartfelt story of The Kims, a Korean-Canadian family who run a convenience store in downtown Toronto. The series centres around Mr. and Mrs. Kim ('Appa' and 'Umma'), who immigrated to Toronto in the '80s to set up shop near Regent Park, and their two grown kids, Jung and Janet.

 

“Canadians have fallen in love with the Kims. The series has struck a chord among viewers of all ages with its unique perspective and its authentic, relatable and hilarious take on family relationships,” said Sally Catto, general manager, programming, CBC. to bring fans a second season in 2017.”

The  first season drew an average audience of 933,000 per episode (2+ AMA), with 39% of viewers in the 25 – 54 demographic. This  CBC original series produced by Thunderbird Entertainment (Thunderbird) in association with Soulpepper will return with Season 2 (13 x 30) in fall 2017. KIM’S CONVENIENCE airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC and is also available to stream online at http://www.cbc.ca/kimsconvenience/.
