Canada’s History Society appoints new CEO
Janet Walker, President and CEO of Canada’s History Society (CNW Group/Canada's History)
Canada’s History Society has named Janet Walker, a former executive consultant to the University of Winnipeg Foundation, as its president and chief executive officer.

In her new position she will oversee the strategic direction of the organization, communications, government and donor relations strategies.

"The board of directors at Canada's History Society is confident that under Ms. Walker's leadership, the organization will grow in its ability to promote the discovery and understanding of our nation's history," board of directors chair Richard Pound said. "Her strengths in the areas of strategy and fundraising will deliver clear goals and emphasize fund development for the long term."

Canada’s History Society publishes two magazines. Canada’s History has a paid circulation of 32,000 and a PMB measured reach of 965,000 readers, or 25 readers per copy. Kayak: Canada’s History Magazine for Kids has a paid circulation of 8,000 in English and 32,000 French subscribers through a partnership with Québec’s Les Débrouillards magazine.
