Over the last few months many creators have expressed urgency surrounding this issue by calling the office of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, emailing their MPs or participating in a book campaign Access Copyright launched earlier this year. The agency wants to take this to a new level.
Here’s what you can do:
•Take a selfie holding one of your books or if you’re a visual artist or photographer, with a publication that includes your artwork.
• Post the picture to your social media account(s) with a short message sharing why the Copyright Act needs to be amended.
• Be sure to tag Prime Minister Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau), Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez (@pablorodriguez) & Innovation, Science and Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne (@FP_Champagne), and also add the hashtags #IValueCdnStories, #cdnpoli, and #creatorscallingonottawa.
