Spacing Magazine takes home the CSME Best Art Integration Award
The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME) gave the first ever Best Art Integration Award to Spacing Magazine.

This is the first CSME for the publication since receiving an award in 2009 for Best Magazine.

The award highlights the importance of packaging which publisher and editor Matthew Blackett said is a subject Spacing has always taken pride in.

“We always try to experiment and push it a little bit in terms of illustration and the types of photography we do,” he said. “At the same time we try to make it clean, nice, attractive and accessible for people. It’s great that we were able to marry our art direction and our editorial in a very successful way.”

Spacing tackles urban landscaping issues across Canada and also received awards for Best Small Magazine, Best Editorial Website and Best Front-of-Book during the June 4 festivities.
