Up Here Business Mag of Year, Design Edge top website at KRWs
Yellowknife-based Up Here Business was named Magazine of the Year at the 57th annual Kenneth R. Wilson Awards for business press journalism handed out at The Carlu in Toronto last night. The KRW awards, co-produced by the Canadian Business Press and Magazines Canada, celebrate the best of B2B magazines.

"With a mission to be the trusted source of news, analysis, context and opinion for and about people doing business in the North, Up Here Business is provocative, trustworthy, and an indispensable resource for political and business leaders who wish to be challenged, informed and entertained about pan-Northern issues," reads a release from KRW.

also won Gold Awards in best regularly featured department or column and best feature article. won Website of the Year. Design Edge is a sister website to Masthead. The award, accepted by former Design Edge Canada editor Ann Meredith Brown, is given "to the website that most successfully fulfills its editorial mission, effectively serves its audience, maximizes use of the web and represents the highest journalistic standards."

Precedent was one of five publications to take home two Gold Awards on the night, winning in the categories of best art direction of a complete issue and best issue; Marketing Magazine won gold for best cover and for best news coverage; Alberta Oil won gold in best resource/infrastructure article and best photograph; Profit won gold in best how-to article or series of how-to articles and in best one-of-a-kind article.

CAmagazine, Canadian Lawyer, Conseiller, Professionally Speaking, National, Canadian Grocer, Building, Statements, and OHS Canada also won golds Tuesday night.
Masthead sponsored the award for best profile of a person, with two golds handed out in that category to Peter Sobchak for Building and Colin Ellis for Statements

Graphic Monthly Canada, also a sister publication to Masthead, received honourable mentions in the best regularly featured department or column category and the best technology/industrial/manufacturing article category.
