Internet continues advertising share grab
The Canadian Media Directors' Council has released its 2010/2011 edition of Media Digest, produced by Rogers-published Marketing magazine. In the report, a chart measuring net advertising volume showed the largest gains in internet advertising, which grew 3% from 2008 to 2009.

Radio also posted a more modest increase of .4% and out-of-home remained steady, with 4.5% of net advertising volume in Canada. Declines were posted in all other mediums, the largest coming in newspapers which dropped 2.7% from 2008 to 2009. Magazines dipped, but only by .5% from 2008 to 2009. They now hold a 6.3% share of the overall Canadian advertising pie.
