Transcontinental reaches sales representation agreements with lifestyle websites
Transcontinental Media has reached agreements to represent its Canadian online inventory with several major websites in Canada and the U.S. which serve the lifestyle segment.

Sites in the deal include 5min,, and Mediclim. The agreements will drive revenue and traffic for Transcontinental’s partners, says company director of business development for media digital solutions Michael Vietri. “We have been challenged with fold-out situations during peak seasons over the past couple of years, so we have an internal need for more inventory and our advertisers have been asking us to help them reach greater audiences,” he says. “Not only increases impressions, but reach.”

The agreements do not prelude equity investments in the future, says Vietri. “But the majority of the sites are large American sites so we probably wouldn’t do that because Canada  is such a small market,” he says. “For Canadian sites our approach at the moment is to partner rather than acquire.”
