With a focus on fashion, beauty and culture, the recently launched online magazine,
Frontrowmag.com will be promoted heavily at the upcoming LG Fashion Week in Toronto, says editorial director Michelle Bilodeau.
Bilodeau says creative director Rachelle Saevil came to her with the idea for the site last spring after hearing a lot of dismal news around the magazine industry. “We started hearing about a lot of cutbacks and we weren’t sure what to do next,” says Bilodeau. “She came to me with the idea to do a fashion focused site because that is what we are crazy about.”
The Frontrowmag.com team will be at all of next week’s major fashion shows, says Saevil and will be posting a next-day gallery for visitors.
Not content with online alone, Bilodeau, who has worked as a fashion and entertainment editor for over ten years says it will launch a print edition to tie-in with fashion week in the fall.
Bilodeau says that the goal of the site, which currently has about 1,000 unique daily visitors is for it to be as interactive as possible and garner quality, long-term readers. “We would like to have traffic like
Fashionista.com, or
Style.com but right now we are trying to make short projections and goals in order to have a good natural growth and committed readers,” she says.
