Calgary-based Bird Marketing Group, publisher of
Fly Fusion magazine, has named
Jennifer Bird publisher of its print division, where she will be responsible for overseeing the glossy and the company’s book division. The quarterly fly fishing magazine will soon unveil a new look and make changes to its distribution model, Bird says. Former publisher

Hadani Ditmars, author of the best-selling
Dancing in the No Fly Zone, has joined
New Internationalist magazine as co-editor. A veteran journalist who has reported from the Middle East, Asia and Latin America, Hadani will serve as the magazine’s spokesperson during interviews, panels and public forums.
LC Media’s
Motomag Moto Journal has new editor-in-chief.
Gabriel Gelinas replaced
Michael Garneau for the July issue. Gelinas is a contributor to
Le Guide de l'auto Magazine, another LC Media title.
Rachel Singh, web editor at Edmonton-based
Venture Publishing, recently resigned her post to pursue a masters in digital anthropology at UCL in London, England. “I have an undergrad in cultural anthro from UBC and my work with Venture as a Web editor has brought me full circle back to the area with the introduction of this new stream of anthropology,” Singh told

Zenith Optimedia, has been voted chair of the recently formed ABC Canada board.
Dennis Skulsky, president and CEO of Canwest Publishing, will serve as vice chair.
