Corrections: “Naked Eye publisher arrested in organized crime case”
A story published by Masthead on June 15 about the arrest of Naked Eye magazine publisher Burton Rice contained errors. Masthead has removed the original story and apologizes for the inaccuracies. An updated and corrected version can be seen here.

The following points in the story “Naked Eye publisher arrested in organized crime case,” originally dated June 15, were incorrect:
  • Police did not find any illegal drugs or magazines at a warehouse that they allege was operated by the Rice family on the Kahnawake Mohawk reserve outside of Montreal.
  • Burton Rice, his father Peter, and his brother Francis, were not charged with drug trafficking or smuggling. Burton Rice has been charged with gangsterism, fraud exceeding $5,000 and conspiracy, according to Chief Inspector Bernard Lamothe of the Montreal police organized crime division.
  • Mustang Distribution Ltd. did not operate out of the warehouse, nor did Brand-U Media, publisher of Naked Eye magazine.
