CSME elects new board, discounts membership fees
The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors has elected its board for 2009. The organization has also set a date for its next luncheon and announced discounts for its membership fees.

Bob Sexton, associate editor at Outdoor Canada, remains CSME's president. The rest of the board looks like this:

Vice-President and Treasurer - Jessica Ross, executive editor of Homemakers
Communications Director - Allan Britnell, freelancer
Membership and Promotions Manager - Olga Stein, editor in chief of Books in Canada
Events Coordinator - Heather Buchan, associate editor at Hello! Canada

Web Consultant -Dmitry Beniaminov, Webmaster of English Media at Transcontinental Media
Regional Board Members - Patricia D’Souza, senior editor of Canadian Geographic (Ottawa), Anicka Quin, managing editor of Western Living (Vancouver)

To keep numbers up during the recession, CSME has decided to discount its membership rates.
Patron memberships, which include a magazine’s entire editorial department plus prominent placement of the title’s logo on our website, are $400 (a $100 discount). Individual memberships are now $75 (a $50 savings). Either membership qualifies your magazine for entry in our annual Editors’ Choice Award, including the new Best Website category.
CSME's next luncheon will take place on Wednesday April 8, 2009. Details will be announced shortly.
