Western Woodland Magazine chopped down

Western Woodland Magazine, which was put on hiatus after the Summer 2007 issue was released, will not resume publishing. Editor Jessica Krippendorf cited a downturn in the forest industry and the volatile Canadian dollar as reasons for the closure.

The trade magazine, published by Point One Media, was targeted to loggers, forestry workers, sawmillers, truckers and industry suppliers. The mag had been published since 2002, with a circulation around 15,000. Western Woodland Magazine’s staff has been re-appropriated to work on Point One Media’s four remaining publications, Krippendorf said.
