The deadline for trade and consumer magazines to enter this year’s Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME) Editors’ Choice Awards is March 24. The awards are the only national magazine awards judged by fellow editors.
Entries must include five copies of three consecutive issues of the magazine, five copies of the magazine’s mission statement, $25 and an entry form, which can be downloaded from the CSME web site. The publication entered must be a CSME member.
Award categories include: editor of the year, magazine of the year, best front of book section and best display writing. Winners will be announced at the CSME June 4 gala. CSME is also looking for editors to help judge the awards.
Each entry will compete in categories regulated by circulation or genre. Consumer magazines are divided into small circulation from zero to 49,000; medium from 50,000 to 149,000; and large starting at 150,000 and beyond. All trade magazines compete in one category.
